According to the details outlined in a copy of a Teacher Contract, Term 1923 agreement posted recently by the Ohio Education Association (OEA) on their Facebook community page, there is no doubt in my mind that women in general have come a long way over the years. Among the many things, women who signed such contract back then were prohibited from keeping company with men, they could not ride in a carriage with men except it be her brother or father and worst yet, they were not allowed to marry. While to some extent, there are societies today that still uphold such practices, doubtless, women have been liberated without the fear of retribution or punishment. For women and men who have entered into marriage, you understand that marriage is no walk in the park and it takes a lot to keep your marriage together.
